Almost €18,000 allocated to carry out flood and coastal erosion studies

Just under €18,000 has been allocated to Sligo and Leitrim County Councils to carry out flood and coastal erosion studies by the Office of Public Works.

Sligo is to receive €5,800 to carry out a Coastal Erosion and Flood Risk Management study at Strandhill and Easkey Coast Road.

A further €12,000 is going towards feasibility study on the Bonet River in Dromahair.

Independent Sligo Councillor, Marie Casserly says the funding is timely given recent flooding at Strandhill and the impact from Storm Barra.
