There are 70 Covid-19 patients being treated in the north west’s two main hospitals today according to the latest HSE figures.
While the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s Trolley Watch shows 59 people being are waiting for a bed across Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals.
49 people are being treated for Covid-19 in Letterkenny University Hospital today, three of whom are in the ICU.
21 Covid patients are in Sligo University Hospital with two in the ICU.
There are no ICU beds available in Sligo and one free in Letterkenny.
A total of 979 people are in an Irish hospital with the virus today 97 of these are in intensive care.
When it comes to hospital overcrowding, 40 people are waiting for a bed in Letterkenny and 19 in Sligo out of a national total of 342.
