Sligo auctioneer says house prices will continue to rise in 2022



A Sligo based house auctioneer believes house prices are going to continue to rise in 2022.

The Real Estate Alliance published their end of year report and are predicting an increase of at least 5% across the north west region.

A three-bed semi-detached home in Co. Sligo rose by 14% in the last year now costing an average of €165,000.

Prices are up 15% in Co. Leitrim with the average price now standing at €144,000.

While the average price in Donegal is now €127,500 up 24%.

Eamon Scanlon of Eamon Scanlon Auctioneers says while it has slowed somewhat, there is still a noticeable number of inquiries from people based in urban centres in the east looking for homes in the west.

Speaking to OceanFM News, he says until it becomes profitable for builders, house prices are going to continue to rise.
