North west MEP critical of decision to reopen schools



A Midlands North West MEP has hit out at the decision to reopen schools with Covid-19 figures soaring in the community.

MEP Luke Ming Flanagan is predicting that the decision ultimately lead to schools being forced to shut in the next couple of weeks.

He said measures such as the instillation of filtration the provision of high quality masks for all teachers and pupils should have been taken prior to schools reopening as well as children receiving the vaccination.

Speaking to Ocean FM News he says the government has failed in this regard.

MEP Flanagan also showed his support for a decision to be made as soon as possible on this years Leaving Certificate exams.
