New Yield sign on Lennox’s Bridge could lead to further accidents

A north Leitrim councillor says a new ‘Yield’ sign erected on the Bundoran side of Lennox’s Bridge on the R280 is causing confusion that he fears could result in confusion, an accident and legal problems.

Concerns have been raised in relation to the safety of the bridge over a long period of time with a number of road traffic collision taking place on the busy route which links Kinlough and Bundoran.

Fianna Fail Councillor Justin Warnock says there had been a ‘Stop’ sign on the Kinlough side of the bridge.

Cllr Warnock is expected to raise the matter at today’s Municipal District meeting of the Manorhamilton Councillors.

The Fianna Fáil Councillor is looking to establish  if Donegal County Council carried out a road safety audit before the ‘Yield’ sign was erected.
