Nurses’ protest planned for Sligo University Hospital has been stood down



A lunchtime protest by nurses over staffing levels and working conditions that was planned for today outside of Sligo University Hospital has been stood down.

 

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation had threatened a public protest to highlight the challenges experienced by members on a day-to-day basis.

 

Concern has been expressed over Issues such as unsafe staffing levels, skill mixes, as well as concerns over potentially compromised care.

 

The INMO confirmed to Ocean FM news last night that the protest has been stood down for the moment due to further engagement and negotiation with the hospital management and the HSE.
