Covid numbers stay high in Leitrim & Manorhamilton



Leitrim continues to have the highest Covid-19 rate in the Country.

 

The country’s 14-day incidence rate has risen to 1,217 cases per 100,000 people. Leitrim’s rate, is 1,663.

 

 

When the number are broken down and allocated to the various local electoral areas it provides a better idea of what the situation is locally.

The Manorhamilton local electoral has once again this week the highest rate of Covid-19 in the local region according to the latest 14 day incidence figures.

 

198 new cases was detected in the Manorhamilton Local electoral Area between November 2nd and November 15th.

 

The rate of infection per 100,000 population has been set at 1160.7 the figure in Manorhamilton was 1829.8

 

However in Leitrim the Ballinamore local electoral which covers areas such as Drumshanbo and Ballinaglera has surpassed Manorhamilton.  193 new cases were detected in this area which represents a rate of 1957.

 

The local electoral area with the highest rate of infection in Sligo is the Sligo Strandhill LEA, 283 cases or a rate of 1339.4 was recorded here.

 

Sligo’s total number of cases for the 14 day period was 773.

 

301 were registered in Ballymote Tubbercurry a rate of 1126 while there were 189 cases in the Sligo Drumcliff Local electoral area a rate of 1069.3

 

232 new cases of Covid-19 were in the Donegal Local Electoral Area over the 14 day period a rate of 875.7 the lowest in all the 5 local electoral areas.
