28 patients with Covid-19 in north west hospitals today



The Government says the latest projections on Covid are stark as up to 500 people around the country could need critical care by next month under the worst case projections by NPHET.

28 patients are receiving treatment for the virus in the north west today.

16 in Letterkenny University Hospital with one in ICU and 12 patients are in Sligo University Hospital along with three in Intensive Care.

614 patients are being treated in Irish hospitals with Covid-19 today and 114 of those are in ICU.

The NPHET model also also predicts there could be up to 12,000 cases a day in worst case scenario.

Professor Paul Moynagh from Maynooth University says health officials have been to slow to act in certain situations, like antigen testing.
