OceanFM news understands that a further two houses owned by Sligo County Council are due to be demolished in Coolaney while 3 more are under investigation in the West Sligo area.

The houses in question were constructed in the 1980s which shows that Pyrite existed in the county prior to the construction boom in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Local Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy says that along with negatively impacting the level of social housing available the demolition costs will also have to be picked up by Sligo County Council.
