Sligo hospital needs cooperation of public as it fights Covid in several wards

Sligo University Hospital is dealing with Covid-19 outbreaks in numerous wards.

Visiting restrictions remain in place as staff continue to deal with an outbreak since the beginning of September.

People are asked to visit the hospital only in an emergency situation as keeping footfall to a minimum is essential to reduce the chance of the virus spreading.

People who do need to attend are requested to have already received a Covid-19 vaccine and it’s advised that children shoud not visit.

Outpatient appointments are going ahead and those with an appointment are encouraged to attend.

Grainne McCann, General Manager of Sligo University Hospital, is urging the public to cooperate with the hospital in dealing with the situation.
