Allocations totalling about €1m have been announced for schools, playgrounds, infrastructure projects and community organisations across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
It’s part of a total of more than €4.2m that’s being given to 104 projects throughout the country under the Department of Rural and Community Development’s CLAR programme.
Among them is almost €50,000 to Coolaney Development Company in Sligo for construction of an asphalt track for bicycles.
The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Donegal T.D., Charlie McConalogue, says €285,000 in CLÁR funding is going to six projects in Donegal.
Sligo/Leitrim TD and Minister of State Frank Feighan says the funding is a key part of the government’s five-year strategy to revitalise towns and villages.
