Greater north/south cooperation required in ongoing Covid battle

A Donegal TD is urging the respective governments in the Republic and North to engage in greater cooperation to try and slow down the spread of Covid-19 on the Island.

Independent TD Thomas Pringle has made the calls after it was reported earlier this week that Northern Ireland has the highest rate of Covid-19 cases in the developed world with a rate ten times higher than that of the Republic.

Locally there has also been an increase in the number of Covid cases in the north west and border regions.

Deputy Pringle says there is an over dependency on vaccinations in the fight against Covid-19.

He says greater cooperation between the two administrations is needed.
