Irish Water investigating reports of bad taste and odour from Lough Talt supply



Irish Water are investigating reports of a bad taste and odour from the Lough Talt supply.

Microbiological and chemical analysis carried out at the treatment plant shows that the water is safe to drink.

The utility say their engineers are investigating the route cause of the issue which is said to be sporadic and only impacting some residents on the western end of the scheme.

Georgina O’Reilly, Regional Operations Lead with Irish Water says the water from the plant is tested daily and they are actively looking for a solution.
