local farmers launch new campaign aimed at protecting those in the suckler cow and sheep sectors

Sligo IFA members were among those that launched new camping this week calling for couple payments for Suckler cow and Ewe farmers.

The campaign was launched earlier this week outside the headquarters of the IFA in Dublin as IFA officials were engaged in lobbying Politicians ahead of the vote on the climate change bill.

The farmers involved with the new campaign feel their views are not being well enough represented with farmers in the North West continuing to witness revenue reductions.

Sligo farmer Eddie Davitt attended the launch and earlier outlined to the OceanFM farm desk why they took this course of action.
