€222,000 for Sea Sessions in Bundoran

Twenty festivals, gigs or premises in the north west are among those to benefit from a 25 million euro fund that has been announced to support live performances as the pandemic eases.

Fourteen of the beneficiaries are in Donegal, four in Sligo and two in Leitrim.

Among the Donegal beneficiaries are Harvey’s Point Summer Cabaret (€31,735), the Great Northern Hotel (€84,627), Sea Sessions (€222,146),

The four recipients in Sligo are Fiddlers Creek pub and restaurant (€30,349) for live music performances, Andersons Bar & Grill in Sligo (€60,912), also for live music performances, the Wild Roots Music Performing Arts and Adventure Festival to be held in Hazelwood (€74,049), and RnB Events Limited (€102,688) for live music shows across five counties.

In Leitrim, two Carrick on Shannon premises will benefit; they are Dunnes Bar (€15,868) and The Landmark Hotel (€127,000).

Minister for Arts and Culture Catherine Martin says small and large events across the country are being funded so musicians and performers can be heard and seen.
