A 100 year old Sligo woman is donating her Centenarian Bounty to charity.

Coleen Healy from Riverstown and resident of St. John’s Community Hospital is donating her €2,540 award to charity Kilimanjaro Direct where her donation will be used to fund the development of a playground for children around the foothills of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

A letter of congratulations signed by the President along with a monetary reward is given to people who reach 100 years of age in Ireland while they receive a commemorative coin from their 101st birthday onwards.

Coleen’s niece, Ann Watters explains why Coleen decided to donate her Centenarian Bounty.

Coleen herself describes how it feels to be 100 and how her one and only driving test in this time ended.
