Iconic Tubbercurry pub, restaurant for sale

One of County Sligo’s most iconic pubs and restaurants is for sale.

It’s Killoran’s Traditional Restaurant and Bar in Tubbercurry, which has been an integral part of the social life of the north west for more than 60 years.

It was at the forefront of the singing lounge era in the 70s and 80s, and was the venue for hundreds of dinner dances, fashion shows and other events.

It was recognised for its quality of food and drink in the Egon Ronay Guidebook of 1994.

Located in south Sligo, it became synonymous with traditional music, the Western Drama Festival and a variety of sporting events and homecomings.

Among its many visitors were leading politicians of the time as well as having the scene for parts of the award-winning film series Normal People.

Over the years, Tommy and Annie Killoran also built up a collection of hundreds of antiques and curiosity items, which are on display in the premises.

Selling Agent Roger McCarrick of REA McCarrick and Sons, says tht as the Covid pandemic eases, people in Tubbercurry are eager to see Killorans thriving again.
