Killybegs GAA Club goes smoke free

Killybegs GAA Club in Donegal is now a Smoke Free

The club launched a new club policy at Eamonn Byrne Memorial Park on Monday afternoon.

Speaking at Monday’s launch, Michelle Cunningham, Healthy Club Officer with Na Cealla Beaga, spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Austin O’Callaghan.

Some of the club’s under-13 footballers gave their thoughts to Austin on the club’s new initiative.

Maresa McGettigan is the HSE’s Stop Smoking Advisor.

Suzanne White is a member of the Donegal senior football panel.

The Killybegs club ground is named in honour of Eamon Byrne, a Wicklow native, who came to play for Killybegs.

He died at the age of 32 while playing for Killybegs against Ballyshannon in June 1988.
