Dáil hears further calls for funding to be issued to Sligo Airport



The Dáil has again heard an appeal for Sligo Airport to be given funding for safety works it has already completed.

 

The issue arose during statements on international travel when Sligo Independent Deputy Marian Harkin said it was ‘beyond urgent’ at this stage that Sligo Airport get its money.

 

The Dáil discussion also dealt with the impact of Covid on international travel as well as what Deputy Harkin said was the importance of Shannon Airport, not only to the mid-west but also to the west, the north west and the south west.
