Funding allocated to promote biodiversity and tackle invasive species

Over €100,000 has been allocated to promote biodiversity and tackle invasive species in the north west.

As part of the national fund of €1.35m, Sligo will receive €49,000, Donegal €27,000 and Leitrim will benefit from just over €31,000.

The government funding will meet 85% of costs of projects with the remainder coming from local authorities.

Independent Sligo Councillor, Marie Casserly, explains how the funds can be used.
