Sligo medic says hospital staff working with ‘hands tied behind their backs’



 

 

The Head of the Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital says there will be delays when it comes to treating patients as a result of the cyberattacks on the HSE and Department of Health I.T. Systems.

 

 

Efforts to rebuild the HSE’s IT system are continuing, following last week’s crippling cyber attack.

 

It has impacted on a huge number of services, with thousands of patient appointments cancelled.

 

Government ministers will be briefed on the latest developments this morning.

 

Dr. Fergal Hickey is the Head of the Emergency Department  at Sligo University Hospital.
