Mona McSharry qualifies for Olympics



Sligo swimmer Mona McSharry has qualified for this Summer’s Tokyo Olympics.

The Grange woman swam the 100 metres breaststroke in 1min 06.97secs which is inside the Olympic ‘A’ qualifying standard.

She was competing at the National Olympic Team Trials in Dublin.

She becomes the first Sligo sportsperson since cyclist Mark Scanlon (Athens 2004) to qualify for the Summer Olympic Games.
