Social media providing networking opportunites to engage in hate crime



More must be done by social media companies to stamp out hate campaigns against politicians and public figures.

 

Those are the claims of the Sein Fein spokesperson on justice and equality Martin Kenny who has been the target himself of such campaigns.

 

The Sligo Leitrim TD says those who partake in such activity are now in a position to liaise with others of similar views through social media channels.

 

Deputy Kenny made the remarks after the Minister for Health Donnelly outlined how personal attacks politicians were discouraging others from entering into public life.
