Encouraging signs from latest Covid-19 figures



Five more people have lost their lives from Covid-19 according to the latest figures published by the Department of Health.

 

423 new cases of the virus are also included in the latest figures.

 

There were 15 cases confirmed in the north west.  All of these cases were reported in Donegal with Sligo and Leitrim showing no new cases in the latest set of figures.

 

Over 663,000 people have now received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination while just under 273,000 have been given their second dose at this stage.

 

The five-day moving average of Covid-19 cases has also fallen by 15 percent in the past week to 430.

 

Figures from the HSE show the number of patients in public hospitals with the disease has dropped by 19 percent over the last seven days to 220.
