Difficulties in applying for vaccinator role

Experienced medical and nursing personnel willing to work as Covid vaccinators are finding the application process too long and onerous.

That’s according to Sligo Councillor Thomas Healy who says he has been contacted by qualified volunteers working with the HSE who are discouraged by demands for CVs, details of qualifications and Garda clearance.

320 new cases were confirmed nationally yesterday but no new deaths, there was no county breakdown supplied.

Cllr Healy said some qualified, active staff who are hugely experienced described the process as insulting.

He says the quick and effective rollout of the vaccine is the way forward.
