Government will adopt cautious approach to lifting restrictions

A Sligo Leitrim TD says he expects the government to adopt a cautious approach when it comes to lifting Covid 19 restrictions.

Ministers have said they don’t want to do anything to put the full re-opening of schools in danger.

Instead the easing of a limited number of restrictions next month will happen in steps, likely from April 12th.

This afternoon cabinet Ministers will consider scrapping the 5 km travel rule to allow in-county travel.

Sligo Leitrim TD and Minister of state at the Department of Health Frank Feighan says the new variant of Covid 19 is influencing the approach being adopted by the government.
