Covid restrictions will be here until June



Tough Covid-19 restrictions could be in place until June.

 

The National Public Health Emergency Team says there needs to be a cautious approach to easing restrictions over the next few months to avoid a fourth wave.

 

The Department of Health has confirmed 582 new cases of Covid-19.

 

There were no additional deaths in the latest set of figures.

 

The number of new cases in the North West was relatively low with 8 cases in Donegal, less than 5 in Sligo and 0 in Leitrim.

 

As of March 15, 620,580 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland:

 

455,182 people have received their first dose

165,398 people have received their second dose
