Over 40 new cases of Covid-19 detected in North West

The Department of Health have confirmed that 10 more people have died from Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland.

592 new cases of the virus were also reported in the Republic of Ireland yesterday.  35 cases were confirmed in Donegal, there were 8 additional cases in Sligo and less than 5 in Leitrim.

382,528 have received their first dose of the Covid vaccination and 154,089 have received their second dose.

Norway and Denmark have temporarily suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Both countries say it’s over concerns about patients developing post-injection blood clots.

The manufacturer and the European Medicines Agency insists the vaccine is safe.

Meanwhile, the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine for the 70s and older has been approved for use here.
