A local representative of the Labour party has urged the government to protect staff and customers of Ulster Bank after it was announced that it is pulling out of the Irish market after 160 years.
Former general and local election candidate, Nessa Cosgrove has described the news as ‘a hammer blow’ for staff and customers of the bank in Sligo’
She’s calling for the staff of Ulster Bank to have their terms and conditions protected in any sale or merger.
The labour party member is also calling for the Loss of banking services on the local region to also be accessed.
