Slight increase in 14 day rate for Co. Leitrim



There has been an increase in the 14 day incidence rate per 100,000 people in Co. Leitrim while one local electoral area in the north west remains above the national average of 226.1.

The latest daily figures show less than 5 new cases were recorded in Sligo, 23 in Donegal and 8 in Leitrim.

The 14 day rate, accurate as of the 24th of February, shows the Sligo/Strandhill local electoral area has a rate of 113.6, Sligo/Drumcliffe is on 113.2 and Ballymote/Tubbercurry is on 116; all noticeable decreases from two weeks ago.

The Manorhamilton local Electoral Area of Leitrim has risen slightly however with a rate of 212.5.

While South Donegal remains above the national average, it has also decreased now on 309.5.

There has been a total of 180 cases recorded during this time in these areas.

According to HSE figures, as of 6.30pm yesterday evening, there were no critical care beds available in both Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals.
