Glynn predicts the Country could to return to normal by the end of year



The Department of Health have reported 35 additional deaths from Covid-19.

 

613 new cases were also confirmed in the latest set of figures.

 

 

8 additional cases were reported in Leitrim, there were less than 5 in Sligo for the second day running and 23 in Donegal.

 

 

591 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 138 are in ICU.

 

There are 7 people being treated for Covid-19 in Sligo University Hospital with 2 in the ICU units.

 

There are 12 Covid-19 patients in Letterkenny with 3 in the ICU unit.

 

359,616 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland:

 

226,291 people have received their first dose

133,325 people have received their second dose

 

The deputy chief medical officer, Ronan Glynn, says the country could return to ‘close to’ normal by the end of the year.
