Agriculture Minister established new Seafood Sector Taskforce

Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue has today announced a new Seafood Sector Taskforce.

The Donegal TD says the taskforce is aimed at making recommendations to his Department in relation to fishing quotas, the fishing industry in general and on coastal communities that depend on fisheries.

There will be a reduction in quotas due to Brexit, most notably in mackerel and prawns.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Minister McConalogue says the government is committed to reducing the impact the quotas will have and invest in the fishing sector.
