Covid-19 figures continue to fall



The Department of Health have reported 821 additional cases of Covid-19 in their latest figures.

 

There were no additional deaths in yesterday’s figures.

 

29 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Donegal. There were 10 in Sligo and 5 in Leitrim.

 

175,238 have now received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and just under 90,000 have now been administrated their second dose of the vaccine.

 

Despite the number of Covid-19 continuing to fall People will have to avoid crowded areas for at least the next six months according to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer.

 

Yesterday was the first time no additional deaths were reported since December 21st.

Dr Ronan Glynn says some significant restrictions will have to remain in place for the foreseeable future to continue to drive down cases.
