Pharmacists ‘should be involved in vaccine rollout’



A Donegal TD is calling on the Minister for Health to ensure that pharmacists are included in the Covid vaccine rollout.

Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle says that while the Irish Pharmaceutical Union had received assurances that pharmacists would be included in community vaccination plans together with GPs, there had been no process to facilitate vaccinations of pharmacists AND their staff.

Yesterday, Monday, Donegal pharmacist Tom Murray of Murray Pharmacies called for clarity in relation to the rollout of the vaccine and the provision of PPE for pharmacy staff.

Last Friday, a number of Donegal TDs had an online meeting with ‘Healthwise pharmacies’ in Donegal.
