Leaving Cert Students secure higher grades after sitting exams

Nearly 40 percent of Leaving Cert students are getting higher grades from the deferred exam, than they were offered in predictive grades.

More than 2,200 will be able to access their marks online from midday.

Students who earn more points than in the calculated grades will have the option to start a new higher point course in September.

Meanwhile the Taoiseach Micheál Martin, has said the Government is keen to give choices to students with a clear desire to hold some form of a written exam when it comes to this year’s exams.

He also confirmed in an interview with the Irish Examiner that there is likely to be little or no easing of restrictions on March 5 and that hospitality settings could well remain shut during the summer.
