Difficulties for north west businesses to avail of Covid supports

Sligo/Leitrim and Donegal deputies have highlighted the plight facing many businesses in the north west that are unable to avail of the Covid Restrictions Support Scheme.

Among them are wholesalers, who are taking back unsold stock from other businesses such as pubs, as well as businesses that do not operate from fixed addresses.

Speaking in the Dail, Independent Deputy Marian Harkin told Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe that she knows of a wedding band that is faced with the prospect of having to sell its instruments to pay ongoing costs.

The matter was also highlighted by Fianna Fail Deputy Marc MacSharry, who urged that the Restrictions Support Scheme be extended.
