Border policing during Covid will be complex.

The Vice President of the Garda Representative Association has said today that enforcing new Covid-19 restrictions around the border will be difficult and complex.

Donegal Garda, Brendan O’Connor says there are many unique challenges when it comes to border policing.

He says that there is speculation that there will be a clamp down on non-essential cross-Border travel, to prevent Irish passengers using airports and ports in the North.

However the Garda Representative Association vice president says that Manpower will be an issue. He also calling for a common sense approach to be taken to establishing a clear roadmap for the Gardai and members of the public.
