Two Donegal players on Ulster All-Star team



Realt na Mara’s Jamie Brennan and Killybegs’ Hugh McFadden were the two Donegal gaelic footballers named on the Irish News Ulster All-Star selection for 2020, which was announced on Thursday night.

Mickey Graham’s Cavan caught the public imagination in the Ulster seniro football championship with a series of heart-stopping victories that took them to their first provincial title since 1997.

Their efforts were rewarded with 12 Allstar selections.

Thomas Galligan also received the overall Player of the Year award.

The men’s 15 is as follows:

  10. Martin Reilly (Cavan)
  11. Gearoid McKiernan (Cavan)
  12. Oisín Kiernan (Cavan)
  13. Conor Madden (Cavan)
  14. Jamie Brennan (Donegal)
  15. Conor McManus (Monaghan).

The Armagh women’s gaelic footballers lost out narrowly to eventual winners Dublin at the All-Ireland semi-final stage but they bounced back to capture the Ulster title and 11 Orchardmen feature on the ladies’ football selection alongside two each from Monaghan and Fermanagh.

Despite lifting hurling’s Nicky Rackard Cup, no Donegal players featured on the hurling Ulster All-Star 15.
