Local region may miss out on Peace funding



Fears have been expressed that the North West and Border Regions may have its funding significantly reduced in the 2021-2027 Peace Plus programme.

 

The concerns were expressed at a recent meeting of the Irish Central Border Area Network where it was reviled that the Belfast to Dublin corridor is expected to be allocated a greater share of the available funds.

 

Manorhamilton Municipal District Chairperson Sean McDermott is a Board member of the Central Border Area Network, he says that there is genuine concern that weaker and depopulated areas may suffer:
