Working from home to become a permanent option

A local TD says the governments National Remote Work Strategy will allow workers the option of working from home permanently.

Workers are already allowed to request remote working but new legislation, planned to be introduced in September, will require employers to give a good reason for refusing.

Minister of state at the Department of Health and Sligo Leitrim TD Frank Feighan is welcoming the strategy saying it will give people the option to work from home on a permanent basis post Covid-19.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Deputy Feighan says there are many benefits in working from home but the necessary supports need to be in place.
