All eyes on McConalogue as Brexit funding shared out

With the battle now on among various groups for chunks of the billion-euro Brexit fund, there’s going to be a renewed focus on the performance of Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue, who’s also Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

Farmers say they have been most affected by Brexit and are looking for the larges share of the Brexit fund.

But sectors such as tourism and trade are also vying for their shares.

Minister McConalogue said he will work to ensure farm incomes are protected. However, he also faces the task of satisfying fishermen, an important group within his Donegal constituency.

Hannah Quinn-Mulligan, news correspondent with the Irish Farmers Journal, has been telling Ocean FM News about the challenges the Donegal-based minister is facing.
