A Donegal TD is accusing the government of putting certain self-interest groups above ordinary citizens in its handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle says this, and mixed messages from government, have led to the crisis situation the country is now in due to Covid.
Deputy Pringle is calling for even tighter restrictions to halt what is the now rampant spread of the virus.
He and Independent Senator Eileen Flynn are calling for a temporary suspension of construction and manufacturing, and for schools and third-level education to return at a later date.
