People in Rossnowlagh beach area asked to check their oil tanks

Efforts are continuing in an effort to find the source of what is believed to be oil that’s been seeping onto one of the most popular beaches in south Donegal.

Home and business owners in the Rossnowlagh area are being asked to check their oil tanks for leaks after traces of what appears to be home heating oil coming from rock armour at the rear of the beach.

In a statement to Ocean FM News, the county council says it has conducted a number of investigations in the area and has also done a leaflet drop to try to determine the source of the pollution.

However, as yet the source has not been identified.
