The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has confirmed 3 additional deaths related to COVID-19.
They have also been notified of 1,167 new cases of COVID-19.
In the north west 48 new cases were reported in Donegal, 18 in Sligo and 5 in Leitrim.
Covid-19 continues to impact on local businesses. In a statement on their social media page, Matt Lyon’s Convenience Store in Sligo confirmed that a member of staff has been informed of a positive Coronavirus test result.
The statement also confirmed that in the interest Health and safety the store will be closed for the next couple of days.
A member of the Roscommon senior Football squad has also tested positive for Covid-19
The Roscommon County Board confirmed last night that a player had contracted the coronavirus and is now self-isolating, while an unspecified number close contacts have been referred for testing and are also isolating. Roscommon are expected to play Cavan in the final round of the Allianz Football league on Saturday.
