North Sligo students who travel by bus impacted by Covid regulations

The reduction in the size of Bus Eireann buses and the halving of capacity due to Covid 19 safety measures has resulted in a capacity issues for families in North Sligo when it comes to travelling to and from schools.

Only 12 passengers are now permitted on the 474 route that transports students from North Sligo to secondary schools in Sligo Town

Sinn Féin Councillor Thomas Healy has aired concerns over the issue describing it as an unfair and dangerous predicament to place school pupils and their families in.

He says that the size of buses servicing this route have reduced in recent years from where 54 students could have been transported in the past the number stands at 12 today.
