A Status Yellow rainfall warning for a number of counties, including Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan and Mayo, will be in force from 4 o’clock this afternoon (Tuesday).
Met Eireann says that this evening, overnight and tomorrow (Wednesday) morning there will be heavy spells of heavy rain moving eastwards resulting in 25 to 40 mm and a risk of localised flooding.
Highest amounts will be in the southwest of the country and in mountainous areas.
The rainfall warning will remain in force until midday tomorrow.
