Provision of adequate toilet facilities in Mullaghmore remains an issue.

Despite staycations being promoted and large numbers of tourists and visitors coming to coastal areas, the provision of adequate toilet facilities in the north Sligo resort of Mullaghmore remains an issue.

The public toilets in the seaside village were not open last year, resulting in port-a-loos being provided instead.

But Fianna Fail Councillor Donal GIlroy says the port-a-loos are not welcome by a lot of people.

He also says there are difficulties in getting people to clean the port-a-loos.

He says the solution is to get the port-a-loos removed and the permanent toilets reopened.
