Public Health officials to discuss re-opening pubs & travel restrictions

The full reopening of pubs, and how to limit the number of tourists travelling into this country, will be discussed by public health officials later today.

The National Public Health Emergency Team meets this morning, with all licensed premises due to be allowed reopen next Monday, under Phase 4of the easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

No new Covid-19 deaths have been recorded, while 11 new cases have been confirmed.

Once again there have been no new cases reported in the counties of Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim.  It’s more positive news for the north west with Leitrim now 7 days without a new case.  No new cases have been reported in Donegal over the past 3 days and Sligo is now 2 days without a new case.

Acting Chief Medical Officer Ronan Glynn says it’s too early to say if pubs will be given the go-ahead to reopen next week:
