Local publican calls for V.A.T reduction in hospitality sector



A local publican and NEC officer of the Sligo Vintners association says the number of pubs thought to be in breach of Covid 19 regulations represents a small percentage of bars and pubs which have started trading again as the Covid-19 restrictions continue to be eased.

 

In some cases, gardai found customers drinking alcohol but weren’t eating any food.

 

In other suspected breaches of the laws, there were large groups at a table with little to no social distancing.

 

Adrian Tansey from the Cross Bar in Gurteen says that the workload has increased for proprietors.
