Mary Bohan expected to confirmed as new Leitrim Council Caoirthleacht



The new Caoirthleacht of Leitrim Council will be announced today.

 

Ocean FM news understands that Cllr Mary Bohan will succeed Cllr Enda McGloin in the role.

 

Cllr Mary Bohan will take the chair in Leitrim for the fourth time in a long and distinguished career in local politics.

 

The role of Leas Caoirthleacht is expected to go to a Fine Gael Councillor.

 

Locally Fine Gael will also take control of the Caoirthleacht’s seat on the Manorhamiton Municipal District of Leitrim County Council.  Ocean FM news understands that Cllr Sean McDermott set to take up the role.

The appointments should be ratified today after respective Council and Municipal District meetings.

 

Ahead of the meetings the Carrick on Shannon Independent, Cllr Des Guckian has expressed his disappointment that not all Councillors are being given a fair opportunity to get the  role of Caoirthleacht
